The National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) is executing an ambitious AIDS control program across India, operating through 36 HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Societies. A notable feature of the NACO AIDS APP is its accessibility, as it provides information in 12 regional languages, fostering broader outreach.

This application employs gamification to promote awareness about HIV/AIDS in an engaging format. Users can explore various resources, including an HIV risk evaluator that assesses potential risk factors. Additionally, the app serves as an informative platform, clarifying myths and facts surrounding HIV while utilizing media jingles to underscore the importance of safe sex practices.

In line with the Government of India's commitment to safeguarding the rights of People Living with HIV (PLHIV), the app includes a dedicated section detailing their rights under The Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (Prevention and Control) Act. This feature aims to combat stigma and discrimination experienced by PLHIV.

The NACO AIDS APP encompasses a comprehensive range of information, from an introductory overview of AIDS to in-depth explanations of its causes. For those already aware of their HIV status, the app facilitates connections to nearby HIV Centers, blood banks, Suraksha clinics, ART centers, and ICTC centers.

Moreover, the renowned helpline number 1097 has successfully assisted over 3.3 million individuals by addressing queries and concerns related to HIV/AIDS. The app also outlines various Social Protection Schemes that provide support in areas such as nutrition, transportation, livelihood, and financial assistance available to PLHIV across different states.

This application is particularly recommended for youths, adolescents, pregnant women, and individuals exhibiting risk-prone behaviors.
